Last year we took a team of adventure racers from newbies to race ready warriors and we are ready to do it again! Some of these men and women had never ran more than a couple kilometers before and every one of them finished the Tough Mudder™ event in Toronto.
In order to train for outdoor adventure races you need to take your training outdoors. Hanging out in a gym doing biceps curls and chest presses just isn’t going to cut it!
What will cut it is building your endurance up to being able to complete 15+ kilometers of terrain, using trail runs, sand runs, stair runs and hills, hills and more hills to give you legs of steel. Did we mention hills. Balance and obstacle training, log carrying, scaling walls, monkey bars and rings are just some of the elements of our conditioning camp to get you into shape.
What to Bring
Water bottle, hydration pack, water belt or whatever you like to carry to stay hydrated. Being able to be hands free is more convenient. Having Sunscreen and bug spray in the car is always a good idea. If you use things like puffers or inhalers it is a good idea to have them with you. We recommend bringing a snack for after the workout and during workouts on longer days. Most of all bring a great attitude!
